Big business is slowly coming around to the idea that its customers are always right. More importantly those who are not customers are even more right.

In the past music downloads would likely have been frowned upon by companies like Sony BMG – indeed it was one of the main aggravators of music sharers throughout the world – but now its name is being linked with not one but two ventures to offer unlimited music downloads to people across the world.

Sony’s U-turn comes hot on the heels of the news of 24-7 Entertainment’s agreement with a Nordic phone provider to offer music downloads. Napster too have been getting in on the act, fuelling rumors of its great return to the fold by holding talks with O2 and Vodafone on the possibility of offering unlimited music downloads for the two telephony providers.

To say this is all interesting news for music fans is a gross understatement.
