I love Acai preserves!

Acai is quite simply one of the food revelations of the century. This little berry has been hiding away in the Brazilian Amazon for centuries now; the locals knew exactly how beneficial the fruit is to their body and mind and even today it takes up around 42% by weight of their food intake. Quite a figure! It helps that acai is not only totally nutritious but wonderfully delicious, too.Acai decays very quickly so unfortunately you are unlikely to see any in the grocery stores. Distributors have come up with some stunning ideas to get it to you, though, and one of my favorites is acai preserves. These acai preserves retain the berry’s color and texture (albeit a little squashed!) and it looks just gorgeous: an inviting purple dark color The flavor is something else, and is not unlike a rich chocolate syrup mixture. Eating acai preserves is almost like eating chocolate to stay healthy… not quite, though!There are ways to get the acai to your without turning to acai preserves. Acai juices are popular, as are powder and pill supplements. Unfortunately the more processing the fruit undergoes the more nutrition and goodness it loses, so it stands to reason that the pills and powders just aren’t as good for you as the acai preserve. Nowhere near as tasty, either!
