Some people who have macs are simply not into mac games

Posted by Sashi under General

Some people who have macs are simply not into mac games. That’s fine — a bit strange, but fine! — ‎and that is their choice. I do feel that they are missing out on a wonderful world of adventure, ‎though.‎One of the latest mac games released to the public is doing its best to change all that: Spore ‎Creature Creator lets you create a creature, play with him (or her), take photos of the little guy (or ‎gal) and even make movies. Once you’ve played with your creature enough you can send him out ‎into the big wide world to play — or otherwise interact — with some of the other creatures in the ‎Spore Universe.‎If you just want to try this game out without paying, then that’s fine: in a move that is basically ‎unprecedented in the world of mac games, there is a free download version of Spore available for ‎free. This isn’t a limited demo edition, it is a full creature creature with around 25% of the facilities ‎that are available in the full version.‎But to be honest, at a price of $9.99, there is no reason at all why you shouldn’t add this to your ‎collection of mac games as soon as you can.‎

iPhone TV it is

Posted by Sashi under iPhone Apps

I realize that many people want to get iPhone TV. This is pretty much the holy grail of gadget ‎achievement; until recently it just hasn’t been possible. Some handsets are starting to be able to ‎receive decent television signals and, thanks to some Apple jiggery-pokery, some interesting ‎advances in the capability of hardware (and the increasing ubiquity of decent Wi-Fi connections), ‎and the exciting news that Apple are soon going to release an app that will allow iPhone TV as ‎soon as by the end of this year.‎

The technology provider Sling – inventor of the pretty ingenious Sling box – reckon that they’re ‎ready to let iPhone TV happen right now. All they need is access to Apple’s proprietary software ‎development kit (SDK). This is where this excellent plan falls down somewhat. Sling are naturally ‎keen to cash in on what could be an amazing opportunity for them in this new and exciting area.Since mac games came into play‎

The idea behind Sling is that you pass your TV connection down through the internet to a mobile ‎device of your choice. The extension of this simple idea to working with iPhone TV is fairly ‎elementary; let’s just hope that Apple see the benefits before it becomes too late.‎

Want a New iPhone app? iPling

Posted by Sashi under General

Having just installed and started to play around with the latest of my iPhone apps purchases, I will say that I am cautiously optimistic about how much enjoyment I’m going to glean from it. This isn’t another of those throwaway iPhone Apps that I’ll get bored with after an hour: this is a fully fledged social networking application designed specifically for the new 3G iPhone that we now know and love.Strangely enough the designers of  iPling have deigned it sensible to not go with the flow and to exclude iPling from the iPhone apps store; perhaps iPling is so good that it doesn’t need the extra marketing clout offered by the might Apple! As I alluded to, my initial impressions of iPling are really good. This is the first of the iPhone apps that I’ve seen to really play on the social networking side of things while tailoring the app to those with 3G phones. You might think that there wouldn’t be a big enough market to make a social networking app worthwhile but with the number of 3G units already sold, this is clearly not the case. The interface is daring and novel and I can confidently say that you’ll stay interested for a long while.

There is so Much Variety of iPhone Music Downloads

Posted by Sashi under iPhone Apps

The number of iPhone music downloads has increased dramatically recently. The iPhone is more than a glorified iPod, but it does have that music playing facility, so why not use it to the full? There is so much variety of iPhone music downloads that you might well have trouble trying to find just what you want. When you factor in the number of music and film downloads into the equation, the process of choosing exactly what it is that you want becomes quite time consuming. This is a difficult choice in a good way. Some sources of iPhone music may be dedicated to a certain type or genre of music. The iPhone only has limited space so you need to decide which tracks you’re going to grab. If you’re planning on watching movies or TV shows that you download then you’d better budget for that space too. There are places on the Internet that you might like to download iPhone music from but you just can’t get to grips with the confusing, difficult, slow or otherwise inadequate interface. Conversely there might be places that have a very poor selection but you’re happy to download iPhone music from there simply because it’s satisfying to use.

Cool iPhone Accessories

Posted by Sashi under iPhone Apps

My iPhone is, I suppose, just like a surrogate baby. The main differences between that and a child was that my iPhone was harder to get, it is more expensive to keep, and I couldn’t buy one on EBay.It will come as no surprise, then, that I regularly buy iPhone accessories for my favorite gadget. And what a wealth of iPhone accessories there are available – there’s probably more available than there are child accessories. They range from the essential (the iPhone casing and protective cover) to the totally unnecessary (top of the range Bose headphones), with almost everything in between. My favorite of all the iPhone accessories that I have is the headphone pillow. This pillow lets me sleep while I’m listening to my favorite tracks. This is absolutely ideal for trips on public transport where I use the music to block out the sound of fellow travelers; this pillow lets me sleep without getting an imprint of the headphones on my head.Apple have done really well with the provision of iPhone accessories to enthusiasts like me. They’ve also allowed independent designers and manufacturers to start making iPhone accessories available. A good move – as always – by the kings of technological the giants.

App Store can sell your App for You

Posted by Sashi under General

Industry analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray may have caused some real shockwaves in the Apple tree recently. A survey carried out by Jaffray of some 20 iPhone developers revealed that around 71% of the apps planned for release to the app store were going to be available for free. He also found that among those with a cost, the average cost was $2.29. An earlier keynote had suggested a cost per app nearer $10.This apparent drop will be bad news to Apple, who stood to gain 30% per sale in return for providing bandwidth and hosting capacity, and for the infrastructure of the app store itself. 30% of nothing is still nothing. But Apple’s consternation will be short lived if they have anything but the most short sighted of outlooks. It is simple to predict that free apps for the iPhone will add value to the iPhone for future and current users, so while the app store will perhaps not make as much profit as predicted, the value it adds to Apple’s current line of products will more than compensate. In many sense, then, the under estimating by Apple of the app store will mean benefits for everyone.

iPhone Games in Abundance

Posted by Sashi under General

Stop the press! Don’t buy and iPhone games!
Have they turned uncool? Is the sexiest gadget on the planet suddenly not sexy any more? Of course not. Apple are, in their inimitable way, just making sure that we all want – nay, need – the new model of their iPhone games when it is announced shortly. So eager are they to make sure there are millions of baying customers crying for their new product they have stopped selling the old model.
Sales of the iPhone games are hoped to reach 10 million by the end of the year, with current sales figures standing at 5.4 million. Apple’s reach with the iPhone games into many foreign markets continues and this should help them meet the figures: Indian telecoms outfit Bharti Airtel have just agreed a deal to work with Apple in getting the iPhone to their 64 million subscribers. If even 10% of these customers took up the iPhone games then Apple would have passed their targets; the price might have to drop for this to happen, though.

iPhone Downloads

Posted by Sashi under General

Apple’s marketing plan for its 3g iPhone is slowly being leaked. Expected to be out by late June, the 3g iPhone will feature a number of improvements.

There are expected to be two main versions of the 3g iPhone with 8 gigabytes and 16 gigabytes of memory. The prices are expect to be $399 and $499.

AT&T is thought to be considering a deal whereby it subsidizes the cost of the 3g iPhone for new customers who sign up for a two year contract deal. The discounts are thought to amount to as much as $200 and would bring the 3g iPhone into the price realm of a lot more people than was previously possible. This move, AT&T will hope, will allow it to tempt customers from rivals like Verizon Wireless (VZ), Sprint (S) and T-Mobile (DT).

Apple will have to be careful not to repeat the last price-cut fiasco that they were involved in, when they annoyed a serious number of customers with a sudden, unannounced price cut.
