Different versions of Ares to choose from

Posted by Laura under General

Ares filesharing software is the King of its kind; if you’re interested in sharing music (or any other type of file for that matter) then you’ve got to consider Ares. Not only is the Ares network the largest of its kind, but the software is well designed, reliable, quick, and easy to use.Filesharing works like this: you choose the files you want to download and save a little file called a ‘torrent’ to your computer. This torrent file simply tells your version of Ares where to look on the network. The software then searches around, finds all of those people sharing the file, then starts to download bits of the files from each user on the network. Once you have bits of the file others will be able to get them from your computer. Ares manages all this and all you do is search and download. Simple. All sharing is done anonymously and you’ll have no problem with privacy or security. The bad media coverage that filesharing has suffered recently is beginning to abate as major industry players start to realize that they have to work with and not against file sharers in order to secure their long term future.

Want a New iPhone app? iPling

Posted by Sashi under General

Having just installed and started to play around with the latest of my iPhone apps purchases, I will say that I am cautiously optimistic about how much enjoyment I’m going to glean from it. This isn’t another of those throwaway iPhone Apps that I’ll get bored with after an hour: this is a fully fledged social networking application designed specifically for the new 3G iPhone that we now know and love.Strangely enough the designers of  iPling have deigned it sensible to not go with the flow and to exclude iPling from the iPhone apps store; perhaps iPling is so good that it doesn’t need the extra marketing clout offered by the might Apple! As I alluded to, my initial impressions of iPling are really good. This is the first of the iPhone apps that I’ve seen to really play on the social networking side of things while tailoring the app to those with 3G phones. You might think that there wouldn’t be a big enough market to make a social networking app worthwhile but with the number of 3G units already sold, this is clearly not the case. The interface is daring and novel and I can confidently say that you’ll stay interested for a long while.
